The FG520 Wired Local Water Sensor Console is wired to the FG500 Water Sensor Interface Controller. It uses power from the FG500 to monitor the wired sensors attached to it, and comes with one FG521 Water Sensor. It can be used with up to five additional sensors for a maximum of six sensors.

Each water sensor has two contacts. When water forms a bridge between the two contacts, it triggers a water alert, which sends a signal to the FG500 to shut off the water in your home. As little as 0.16" of water can be sensed.


The Extra Sensors that work with this console are shown below. Up to 5 additional sensors can be ordered per console.

  • FG521 Water Sensor. Standard wired water sensor. 2" x 3" x 0.88" This sensor is a little shorter than a business card. Comes with 15' of two wire cable. One included with the FG520.

  • FG522 Under Carpet Water Sensor    . This sensor is thinner than the FG591, so it is ideal for under a carpet. 2" x 3" x 0.18" It does not have the nice case the FG591 has. Comes with 15' of two wire cable.

  • FG523 Small profile Water Sensor    . 2.5" x 0.52" x 0.55" Comes with 6' of two wire cable.

The FG520 comes with one FG 521 surface sensor. You can add up to 5 additional water sensors (sold separately).

  • FG523: 2.5" x 0.52" x 0.55" (63.5 mm x 13.2 mm x 14 mm) has 6' cable
  • Sensitivity: Sensors will not alarm due to high humidity or condensation

The FG520 is easily mounted on a wall above the sensors with wires going to the sensors. The water sensors are built to minimize false alerts by not triggering from condensation or high humidity.

This is a wired sensor system. You will need to run a 4-wire 18 AWG cable (one 150 ft. cable is provided with the FG500) from the FG500 Water Controller to the FG520 Console to connect power, and the sensor alert to your water shut-off system.
