This is for pointing a camera outdoors in a specific direction, and is ideal for covering doors, garages and areas that have restrictions on how people can move through them. The benefit of a fixed outdoor installation is you don't have to move the camera around when viewing, and you can quickly check a certain area from your computer by just looking at the video on your monitor.
This housing is heat insulated and is constructed of solid aluminum with steel brackets. The camera is accessed by flipping open the top. The housing is designed for anti-tampering. Cables can be run through the center of the bracket for anti-tampering protection.
Requires: VC700 Day/Night Camera. This is just the housing, the camera is not included.
The Housing includes a fan and heater elements for hot and cold weather. The housing heater, fan, and the camera are powered internally by 24v AC, and 12V DC, coming from a built in power transformer in the housing. Outside power to the housing is provided by 120 VAC coming from your house power.
The housing has additional heat insulation to keep heat out in the summer and maintain warmth in the winter.
Fan and heater keep the front window clear of moisture and frost.
Flip open top for camera insertion and cabling.

Although the camera is wireless, the camera and the housing requires power from your homes 120 VAC power. You want to locate the outdoor camera somewhere where you will have access to power.
The camera connects to your video software on your computer through your wireless network, if you are not in range of your wireless router, than you will have to run an ethernet cable to the camera to connect to your computer. A simple way to check this is to take your wireless laptop out to where you want to mount the housing and see if you can access the internet from there on your laptop.
This housing is for use outdoor use, and should not be used indoors.
